Anastasiya Romanska is currently the Community Engagement and Education Advisor at  The Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace and Security, helping integrate children's and community perspectives into security sector responses. 

Born in Ukraine and raised in Toronto, she has long been driven by a passion for peacekeeping and sustainable development.

Anastasiya holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University, with her work appearing in digital and broadcast outlets across Canada. With an interest in children's rights, she specialized in humanitarian stories, such as the courageous journeys of women and children seeking refuge from the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Prior to joining the Dallaire Institute, Anastasiya served as the Press Secretary and Senior Communications Advisor for the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. Simultaneously, she pursued her Master's Degree in Global Security from King's College London, where she is completing her research on Artificial Intelligence's impact on global security.

Anastasiya is a strong believer in plain language and storytelling, seeking to make complex ideas accessible to diverse audiences. She believes that everyone should have the opportunity to share their story and have their voice heard.

In her spare time, Anastasiya works as a Skate Canada figure skating coach, sharing her love for the ice with the next generation of skaters.
