I just want to see the world and tell its stories.
Hi! I’m Anastasiya, a fast walker, fast talker, tea drinker and unashamed morning person. There are really only two things I love more than mornings: simple language and figure skating.
Professionally, I am a Toronto-based journalist working across digital, radio and television outlets, covering everything from lifestyle to history, to breaking news. It is my privilege to connect people to their communities and the world around them.

How I got to where I am:
I began my career as an intern at CIUT 89.5 FM, before quickly becoming a substitute for hosts. I created webcasts, logs, and archives, along with working as a board operator.
In following months I became an ENG reporter for RogersTV Mississauga; covering events such as The Ripple Effect Wellness Organization Cheque Presentation, Passion 4 Dreams Black History Month Celebration and Holi Gala.
Throughout 2017, I branched out into the world of marketing and advertising, voicing a variety of commercials and radio teasers.
I was the creator, writer, host and producer of Brightside on CIUT 89.5 FM. My show broadcasted weekly from downtown Toronto, across the GTA, and Buffalo. Brightside covered local Canadian artists and discussed current events happening in and around Toronto. I departed the show in August of 2020 after four amazing years on air.
In 2018 I took on the role of producer, videographer, reporter and editor of a weekly segment for KONTAKT. My work was broadcasted Thursday and Saturday evenings on OMNI Television. The show explored the Ukrainian community in Toronto, visiting local businesses, events and landmarks.
At the start of spring 2019, I joined AH Media in Toronto. I worked as a content creator for View the Vibe and Swagger Magazine; focusing on videography and editing, as well as written articles.
In 2020 I took on a role as a reporter for Sport Management Hub, as well as the host of their digital show, The SnaP, which featured voices from the sport industry. I had amazing opportunities interviewing Olympians, CEOs of top organizations and other successful people in the industry.
I am currently a writer for blogTO, writing both timely and evergreen articles, along with historical features of Toronto neighbourhoods.
One of the highlights of my career was being awarded the A.O Tate Award for excellence in news-reporting from Ryerson University where I am currently completing my degree in journalism.
